    The Department of History and Geography comprises the following subjects and areas: Social Sciences, Philosophy, Ethics, World Religious studies and Sociedad , Cultura y Religión.

    World Religious Studies is taught from 1st to 4th year in Upper School. In teaching this subject we intend an approach to the different religions and beliefs in the world so developing in our students the values of tolerance,understanding and respect for others.

    Ethics is taught in the 4th year of Upper School. The aim of this core subject is to promote team work, exchange of opinions based on personal experiences and to be able to reason and solve every day problems.

    Citizenship is taught in 3th level of Upper Schoolm. The aim of this subject is to generate conversations allowing students to express themselves and get an opinion about social reality based on democratic values.

    Sociedad, Cultura y Religión is a core subject in High School. As this is such a broad discipline we use methods of investigation and critical analysis rather than conceptual ones. ICT facilities are used as a very useful tool for further investigation.

    Social Sciences are taught as a core subject from Upper to High School. At this last stage it is then called Modern World History and it is designed to better understand the development of History and to grasp a deeper knowledge of present society.

    Philosophy and Ciudadanía are taught in High School and the aim is to open up students to critical thinking, self-discipline, beliefs and values and to a better understanding of the world we live in.

    Classical Languages are taught in 4th level of Upper School and 1st level of High School and the aim is to understand our own language evolution. Both (Latin and Greek), are considered languages of important cultural transmission.

    Art History is taught in 2nd level of High School as an option for Social Sciences. The aim is to make students know essential artistic signs, following from the origin to the 20th century; approaching to techniques, stylistic shapes and artistic languages.
